The Boston Celtics moved one win closer to another NBA championship Friday night, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 105-98 in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. The Celtics now lead the series 2-0, putting the Mavericks on the brink of elimination.
"We just wanted to come out here and get a win," said Celtics star Jaylen Brown, who led all scorers with 30 points. "We know they're a tough team, but we just wanted to make sure we came out here and played our game."
The Celtics led by just 5 points at halftime, but they pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Mavericks 32-18. Jayson Tatum added 21 points for the Celtics, while Marcus Smart chipped in with 19 points and 12 assists.
